2009 F1 Brazil – Rubinho will Lead the Race

Interlagos – Host drivers Rubens Barrichello took the pole position in qualifying session of the 16th series of Brazil Formula 1 Grand Prix. Practical, this Brawn GP driver was confirmed to lead the home race at Interlagos Circuit on Sunday (18/10/2009) local time.

Rubens Barrichello successfully shift the fastest record time by Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber. 37 years old Veteran Star who was familiarly called Rubinho performed fantastic with become the fastest drivers on the very wet track on the qualifying session, today.

Yes, the qualifying was held under a heavy rain. Every drivers have to use the full wet tyres. Thunderstorm and heavy rain was predicted at Interlagos and it was very accurate. The weather turned the qualifying into the longest session ever held in the Formula 1 history.

In Q1, the first victim is Giancarlo Fisichella, Ferrari F1 driver. His car was stalled and blocked the track after he loosing control of his car. A red flag then rises.

Another red flag rises on the Q2 when Antonio Liuzzi from Force India F1 had a big and serious crashed. The inspection car came out several times at this situation to make sure the track was safe enough for every one to make a time.

This qualifying session ended and took a longest time qualfying session ever held in Formula 1 history. I took 2 hours and 41 minutes.
