Gearbox problems, Red Bull Racing were forced to stop their latest RB5 pace early in the middle of the race in Jerez, on Monday (9/2/2009). Practical, Sebastian Vettel is only able to complete lap 14 before the team decided to stop the testing session.
“Unfortunately, we failed to complete this exercise. We had hoped to complete a more lap, but for reasons of safety, we decided to stop,” as Vettel told to autosport, Selasa (10/2/2009).
“We do not know why gearbox oil temperature suddenly escalate. It takes a time for engineer to remove it from the car, let alone the car is still new,” he added.
With the few time for trial, Vettel can not claim to estimate the strength of the car.
“It’s hard to estimate the performance, because we only had done 14 lap,” 21 years old germany driver said shorter.
