Jean Todt Lead FIA

PARIS – Jean Todt officially replace Max Mosley as a new leader of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). Former Ferrari boss was defeating his rival Ari Vatanen in a vote in Paris.

"Jean Todt has been officially elected as FIA president for a term of four years, as the results of of the vote in Paris," said onethe FIA official, was quoted by Reuters, and recorded at f1dv.com reported on Friday (23/10/2009).

Todt was elected after winning 135 votes defeating Vatanen, who is only able to collect 49 votes. So what did the former seven-time world champion Formula 1 Michael Schumacher said: “This is very positive,”.

Todt’s election was no doubt. The reason is, Mosley and F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone openly supported the French man to be a new FIA leader.

Thus, the F1 enters a new phase under Todt’s leader. He will replace Mosley, the man who has led the FIA since replacing Jean-Marie Balestre in 1993 ago.
