Sepang Consider to Hold Formula 1 at Night

Malaysia seemingly do not want to lose out to compete with the success of Singapore's night race. Malaysia Government considering the relative change Sepang circuit to become the second Formula 1 race at night.

Yes, some time ago Singapore became the initiator of Formula 1 night event. At that time the government prepared by provide big enough funds to turn Marina Bay into road circuit challenging for drivers.

Consideration of the government of Malaysia to make Sepang as the night circuit was not separated from the polemic of twilight race, last week invited a variety of slate. In that series, the drivers complained about the time of the afternoon race (at 17:00) that makes the distance of sights is limited.

In addition to the distance of sights, the series at Sepang also take place in confusion because of the heavy rain that came down makes the race to be stopped on lap-24. This makes the drivers disappointed.

“After attending each of the Formula 1 series, we have been talking with Bernie Ecclestone to find out more, whether our plan is acceptable or not,” said leaders of Sepang circuit, Mokhzani Mahatir.

“Our request to move forward the time of race or hold the race at night will decided as soon as possible,” added Mokhzani to the Malaysia local site, New Straits Times, Monday (13/4/2009).

About the costs that are required to make that changes, Mokhzani said his side has prepared several alternatives, “We are still able to cover the cost of restoration circuit (a night-circuit) by making Sepang available for rent for many others event,” he closed the conversation.
