PARIS – The lifetime penalty imposed to Flavio Briatore revoked by FIA. Now, the former Renault boss could return to touch the Formula 1 career. However, Briatore refused. Why?
Briatore be sanctioned for life since September 2009 after exposure of masterminding race-fixing scandal. 49 years old Italian businessman is accused as the main actors who ordered Nelson Piquet to crash intentionally paved the way for Fernando Alonso seized the podium of Singapore Grand Prix 2008. The incident became known to the crash-gate.
Didn’t like his activities suspended, Briatore sued. Today, the French high court decided not guilty and permit him to go back to his racing career at the world-class elite Formula 1.
But Briatore would not hurry. He claimed to enjoy the “freedom” legalnya first.
“Let me enjoy this happy moment, after passed a hard time,” said the former Renault boss as reported by Autosport, Wednesday (6/1/2010).
“Plenty of time to discuss whether I will go back to F1 or not. I just want to thank to those who remain faithful and loyal support me, “he added.
